Job Overview The International School Texas is seeking a part-time Teacher of Middle School Mathematics /Science This post is available immediately. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP). This position will join a team of highly qualified, motivated, and professional educators in our Secondary Division. IST students become lifelong learners as they progress through the MYP, learning in a collaborative and inquiry-based environment. It is our mission to nurture curious students who take an inquiring perspective about the world and are inspired to continue learning, growing, and taking action for the stewardship of our planet. The primary responsibilities of this position include the planning and preparation of highly engaging, rigorous Mathematics lessons while documenting and tailoring instructional practices to best meet the needs of the students. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School. Requirements and Qualifications The successful candidate must have experience teaching middle school. The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning. This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom. In addition to teaching responsibilities, IST faculty have the opportunity to lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience. Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred and increased stipend rewarded.
• Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience.
• Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required
