Job Description

Provide detailed review and analysis of complex tax returns, approximately up to 35% of time Work on multiple complex issues and communicate in a non-technical manner between clients and service teams Manage risk for clients and the firm May have people leadership responsibilities Train and develop staff members, approximately 10-20% of time Serve as Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients Review research findings and ensure conclusions align with firm policies and professional standards Assist with new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law Collaborate with clients, industry experts, and RSM specialists to develop tailored solutions Some travel may be required depending on location, line of business, and client need Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related field Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, EA or a licensed JD Minimum of 3 years of experience working in public accounting with an emphasis on taxation Experience preparing and reviewing Partnership, S Corporation or C Corporation returns Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or collect necessary information for tax service requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a collaborative team and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Active CPA, JD/LLM, or EA preferred Masters of Accounting, Masters of Taxation or MBA preferred Experience with private client or business taxation preferred Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740's Experience dealing with international tax matters is a plus RSM does not intend to hire entry level candidates who will require sponsorship now or in the future (i.e. F-1 visa holders) Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in tax return analysis, compliance, and client service coordination, with a strong foundation in tax law and accounting principles.
